Valentine's Weekend In York
The city of York is filled with heart-warming places year-round but during February there is an extra special atmosphere that fills the City walls. Explore everything the city has to offer before finishing the day with a meal at the Yorkshire Bar and Grill.
If love is in the air, head to the York Minster and kiss your other half, legend has it that couples that kiss under the ‘Heart of Yorkshire’ window will stay together forever. York Minster is one of the most magnificent medieval churches in Europe which took over two and a half centuries to build so a must-see for those visiting the city! The Minster is open to the public from 9am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and can be visited from £9pp.
Walk the two miles of the City Walls built around York and build up an appetite. The 13th-century walls are the longest of their type in the UK and free to walk almost every day of the year. Couples can enjoy this walk from 8am to dusk daily.
If you want to stay closer to the city centre, then head to the Shambles. The cobbled street is filled with all sorts of curiosities hiding within timber-framed buildings that date back to the fourteenth century.
After a day of exploring York’s history settle down and enjoy a relaxing, romantic 3-course meal in our York restaurant. Our special Valentine’s Day menu has plenty of choice for our visitors and is charged at £30pp. This menu will be available on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February and is bookable online or via calling our restaurant.
As well as enjoying a lovely meal with your other half you can also enjoy live music on Saturday 15th as we will have a local performer Hannah Goodall joining us in our Orangery from 7pm onwards.
